SINE-TRANSIT Short Film Festival
SINE-TRANSIT is a program of contemporary Indonesian films that inhabits the in-between —geographically, spiritually, and politically—as both a site of tension and transformation. In this space of perpetual transit, identities blur, borders dissolve, and new ways of being begin to flicker into view. Whether through the conjuring of ancestral spirits, the digital textures of queer refusal, or the collision between tradition and techno-futurism, the featured works speak to the liberatory potential of not arriving. TRANSIT invites us to imagine what can be found—not in arrival, but in the messy, liminal spaces in between. Rather than seeing in-betweenness as lack or loss, TRANSIT proposes it as fertile ground: an aesthetic, a politics, and a way of imagining futures not yet known.
