ACTUEL REMIX brings together the music of leading electronic artists and contemporary classical composers, seeking to blur the boundaries between these two musical worlds.

To mark the release of the fully restored version of Metropolis (Fritz Lang, 1927), the group remixes the music of Richie Hawtin, a major figure of the techno scene, with the work of Iannis Xenakis, one of the pioneers of 20th-century contemporary music.

Richie Hawtin's stripped-back, powerfully rhythmic sound provides the vital pulse that drives the live score. Woven into this framework, the richness, modernity, and raw intensity (at times even violence) of Xenakis's musical language unfold with a force that echoes the expressionist aesthetic of the film.
