Meridians & Acupressure for Deep Sleep
Meridians & Acupressure for Deep Sleep
Do you lie down at night only to find your mind won't switch off — or wake at the same hour and struggle to fall back asleep? In Traditional Chinese Medicine, sleep is the body's natural shift from Yang (day, active) into Yin (night, restful). When that switch goes wrong, sleep suffers.
This hands-on 2-hour workshop makes an ancient body of knowledge simple and experiential — no theory-heavy lectures, and no prior TCM background needed. Through playful, body-based exercises, you'll first feel Yin and Yang in your own body and get to know the Five Elements and their connection to the organs and emotions. We'll then explore, through a TCM lens, why sleep goes wrong — and what your body is telling you when you wake at a particular hour.
From there, the workshop becomes practical: you'll learn to locate and press a few key acupressure points that calm the mind and settle the body, practising gently on yourself and with a partner in pairs or small groups. To close, you'll take home a simple 10-minute pre-sleep routine — scalp combing, meridian tapping, and calming points — that you can use that very night, and every night after.
Suitable for anyone wanting more restful sleep, at any level of experience. Please wear comfortable clothing. This workshop is offered as a lens for understanding your body — a wellness practice, not a diagnosis or medical treatment.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Miao Miao is a TCM educator and the founder of two original methods: One Minute Eye Reading, and Visualized Moxibustion — a practice where the meridians are worked with moxa while the body surfaces images tied to stored emotion and past experience. A TEDx speaker and published author with master's degrees in English and Psychology, she has read the eyes of over 6,000 people and given moxibustion to more than a thousand. Her workshops make the meridians simple and hands-on for beginners.
