Young Artist (Penestanan) Technique

Discover one of Ubud’s distinctive painting styles through a hands-on painting session inspired by the Young Artist technique that developed in Penestanan, Ubud.

Known for its direct brush strokes, bold color blocking, and simplified forms, this style focuses less on complex blending and more on expressive compositions inspired by everyday landscapes, flora, and fauna in Bali.

Before the painting session begins, participants will join a short storytelling session by Ubud Story Walks exploring the history and evolution of painting traditions in Ubud, including the development of the Young Artist movement.

This class is designed for beginners and anyone interested in experiencing Balinese art through a more accessible and playful approach.
