Have you tried to start meditating but found it hard to stick with? Do all the different methods and advice leave you feeling overwhelmed before you even begin? You’re not alone—and this workshop is here to help. Designed specifically for those who want to start meditating but aren’t sure how, or for those who have started many times but haven't been able to sustain the practice, this 2- hour session will guide you step by step into creating a practice that works for you.
In this workshop, you’ll learn key principles like Awareness, Focus, Non-Attachment, Patience, Consistency, Posture, Intention, and Breath Awareness. These tools will simplify meditation and give you a clear path forward.
We’ll also explore why people meditate—whether for relaxation, mental health, physical well-being, or spiritual growth—and help you connect with your personal motivation. You’ll get an introduction to different types of meditation, including guided practices, breath-focused techniques, and silent sitting, so you can find what resonates with you.
We'll practice, giving you the space to try these methods in a supportive environment. By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with practical tools, a clearer understanding of meditation, and the confidence to begin your own practice.
This is a practical workshop that is perfect for beginners—no experience needed. Bring your curiosity and an open mind, and let’s shift meditation from a task on your to-do list to something you genuinely look forward to.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Jana Johnson is a seasoned teacher, healer, and guide with over 20 years of experience in exploring spiritual traditions and energy work. Her journey has taken her through practices including Buddhism, South American earth-based traditions, Vedic teachings, and intuitive energy healing. Jana has studied with master teachers in Bali, India, and beyond, cultivating a deep understanding of spiritual growth and self-realization. Her work blends ancient wisdom with practical tools, helping individuals uncover their unique spiritual paths. Jana’s approach is grounded in the belief that spirituality is personal and unique to each individual, and her workshops are designed to inspire curiosity, connection, and clarity.

- For special class, workshop and night event, Children under the age of 10 are not permitted to join , there are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule. Children ages 10-15 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or sibling that is over 18
Refund Policy:
If you are unable to attend this event, you are eligible for a full refund of the ticket price if you contact us at least 24 hours in advance of the published start time. Contact must be made via email to [email protected] or in person at The Yoga Barn reception desk. We are NOT able to process refunds for any reason if you contact us less than 24 hours prior to the published start time. We do not cover reimbursement of any associated booking fees that exceed our published ticket price.
Ticket Transfer:
Tickets are not transferrable to another person. The booking is only valid for the person whose name is printed on this ticket.
Late Arrival:
We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time. If you arrive after the published start time, you may be denied access and your booking will not be refunded.
Cancellation Policy:
If this event is canceled by The Yoga Barn prior to the start time, you are eligible for a refund of your ticket. We do not cover reimbursement of any associated booking fees that exceed our published ticket price. Please be aware that refunds may take up to 30 days.
