In 1974 Japan, an unconventional collective of over 100 people—musicians, scientists, doctors, and amateurs—came together driven by a shared obsession: Indonesian gamelan. They merged bronze, bamboo, chanting, and early electronics to bridge ancient ritual with futuristic sound, creating one of the most enigmatic musical experiments in history.
Welcome to Volume 01 of our new monthly listening series at Coca Selekta, Titik Dua Hotel Ubud.
Hosted by Coca Selekta and presented by Softerfields, this recurring series is built for dedicated analog sound and deep listening. We put digital noise on pause to explore rare pressings and the untold stories behind iconic records.
